So Many Video Games, So Little Time!

The video game industry is always evolving with lots of new games developed and published for your gaming pleasure! This industry is growing steadily, with some dips along the way, but mostly increases in a positive direction. It would not be suprising if a Kim Kardashian video game hit the shelve soon!

It is envisioned that the video game companies will become bigger, and maybe more powerful than the movie industry.

In fact, at certain times of the year, just as with blockbuster movies, video game companies have large promotions to advertise and generate buzz about their new video game offerings and gaming peripheral equipment as well. In fact, the latter part of 2011, new video games were being launched and released almost daily!

Just how much is the video game industry worth?

The latest estimates show video games' earnings worldwide at about $67 billion dollars and rising! That is quite a lot to brag about. But wait, that is not all -- there's more!

In addition to introducing new video games to video game players ranging from casual video game players to the avid, gong ho players, the video game industry is always wowing us with innovations that we may have never heard of.

Which brings me to the video game that made big video game headlines due to its uniqueness. There is a video game that you can actually drive! That's right. It was modeled after an old Sega sit-down racing arcade game, where the exact same game platform was used to construct a golf- like concept car, complete with the video racing game!

How does it work? You simply sit in the concept car, facing the screen, and direct the car by looking at the screen instead of your surroundings. Driving the concept car in an enclosed space should probably be safe and ok. But not on the open road! For your safety and those of others, I would not recommend this concept video game car be driven on the open road -- even if it only goes about 13 miles per hour.

What's available in video games?

There are so many different types of new video games available, especially with the recent onslaught of games -- it would be close to impossible to give you even a smidgeon of the names of all these exciting games. I can tell you that there are wide variety of ways you can play video games. You can play video games on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Ninendo WII, your PC, your smart phone, iPhone, your iPad and many other ways.

Video games can be grouped into certain categories, according to how the games are played. Some common types of video games are side-strolling, first person shooter, arcade, puzzle games, strategy games, Role Playing Games (RPGs) and many more. You may search online or in stores to find video game offerings of your choice.

Would you like to have your video games delivered right to your door? Amazon.com is the perfect venue to use! Amazon.com ships quickly, and depending on how much you purchase, there is also free shipping! Returns are also a breeze!

Fun, easy video games!

Of the many games that are fun and easy to play, some of the ones I play are Zuma, Bejeweled, and Peggle -- all by PopCap. Bejeweled is currently up to its third rendition or reissue as of this printing. The good thing about video games from a financial, money saving standpoint is that the video game companies and promoters usually give you a free trial period where you can play the video game, free of charge! I exercised this option with Bejeweled 3 -- I played the trial version online and thoroughly enjoyed playing this video game. Most of the time they only give you one trial, which I found out by trial and error! By the way, I also l have the 2nd version of Bejeweled on my computer.

I enjoy playing Peggle, because of the bright colors of the graphics and the way rainbows, stars and balloons appear and the victorious singing you hear after you've won. You win by successfully clearing all the orange balls, leaving the blue ones in tact -- without running out of the silver launch balls! Depending on how well you play the video game, you can get or win bonus silver launch balls which extend your video game play.

Just as the other video games I talked about above, Zuma is a fun game that can be played over and over again as well. The object of the video game is to match the colored balls that are shot from a frog-like animal with the balls constantly moving around in a circle, before they land in the skull's mouth. You must match at least two balls of the same color. The neat thing I like about this video game is the sound effects you hear when you throw out the ball in an attempt to match colors with the revolving balls. You get three tries before Game Over!

Another featue I like about this game is you can quit and restart the game from the beginning anytime while playing the video game. There is also relaxing type music in the background as you play the video game.

An innovative fun game to play is Eye Pet, a virtual reality type game that requires the PlayStation Move along with the PlayStation 3 video game system.

Regardless of the video game or video game system you choose, you will get a sizeable Return on Investment (ROI) by the way of pleasure and enjoyment! In fact, with so many video games available, you will certainly get your money back from your purchase by all the fun/entertaining video games that are already available to you as well as those that are for in development and yet to be released!

Other Type Video Games

In addition to the easy to play, stress-free games, there are also war type games available where you can use your strategic thinking and get your adrendalin going! The games that come to mind are Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which broke sales records when it first came out! After its long run in leading video game sales, it is still going strong. Why not find out why this game is so arduously popular and get your very own Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty Modern Warefare 3 for yourself or as a gift. Coming soon is Call of Duty Black Ops II.

Similar games along these lines are Halo Reach, Uncharted 3, and many others.

Most of these video games are either single player or multiplayer, including those you can play online. With the right equipment, i.e .a good set of head phones, and maybe a Microsoft live account (which is not required for all games), or a PlayStation Network account you can carry on a video game conversation at the same time with the video game players you are playing with or against!

If you are into sports, there is a variety of sports games available for your choosing! In fact, Madden NFL 12, published by Electronics Arts (EA) that came out recently is highly popular. There are also boxing games available if you like boxing sports such as Kinect Sports which has a variety of active sports games you can play.

Want to do some fun dancing exercise? Then I recommend playing video games using the Kinect platform for the Xbox 360 so you can play Dance Central. Dance Central is an energetic video game that is really fun to move and dance to.

When playing the game, you are not holding a controller, so you can move your hands, legs, arms how ever you want in concert with the upbeat music. Again for safety, be sure you have a wide open space with no obstacles so you can dance and move around freely.

Both the Kinect Sports and Dance Central video games are played on the Xbox 360, and require the Kinect console platform.

Are you into adventure? Then you may want to try Bioshock, Mass Effect, and video games along those lines. What about racing? There are lots of racing games available as well! I would recommend the Forza racing series game. You will enjoy playing the game as well as the beautiful scenery surrounding the racetrack.

Downloadable Games!

Another major category of games are those you can download right off of your computer, your game system, your iPhone or other mobile units. One such video game is a game that will keep you trying over and over again to get a high score, or to beat the computer who keeps "jabbing" at you (figuratively speaking) triumphantly when you lose. The voice of the video game is an enticing female's voice who says such phrases as, "You can't beat me!" "You are insignificant!" "Is that all you got?" and more. Of course you want to prove her wrong which is part of the draw for the game! That exciting video game is "You Will Die", downloadable from the Xbox 360 and Windows 7.

Another exciting video game available on iTunes, downloadable to your iPhone is RoboFighters -- where you emulate and become one of the robots, fighting to win the battle against other robots! And of course there are many more downloadable games, some available on Steam and other online sources.

I've placed youtube videos of both of these exciting downloadable video games below for you to check out!

Role Playing video games

Are you into role playing like I am. Then you must check out the video below where I played one of the most interesting role playing games ever -- in my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong. There are lots ot creative role playing games, but if you want to play one that has a neat story line and is easy to control to boot, you must play I am Alive.

Take a look at the you tube video of part l game play of I am Alive and see if you agree with me.

Video Game Returns

Here's advice regarding returning video games after purchase. A lot of venues do not accept video games after they have been opened. So if you are purchasing a video game as a gift or for yourself, please refrain from opening the package until you are absolutely sure you want to keep the video game. You cannot play or preview the video game, decide you want another video game instead, and expect to return it either online or at a brick and mortar store for a replacement or a refund. Once it's open, the game is essentially yours.

Some stores do allow for trade-ins of used video games, but from what I hear, you do not get a good return on your money. So for now, I would recommend you purchase a video game that will give you lots of bang for your bucks, meaning, you can replay the game again and again, and enjoy it, just as if it was your first time playing the video game!

Video Game Ratings

Remember to check the ratings of the video game for the appropriate age levels for players. Some of the ratings are E, for Everyone, T for Teen, M for Mature, and M + 17 for even more Mature. The rating letter is usually located on the bottom left side of the video game package, if bought on line or from a store.

And also be sure you get the video game that's available for your particular game system, whether it's for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or others. For example, do not get a Playstation 3 game and expect to play it on your Xbox 360, and vice versa.

Want more info on video games?

I could go on and on telling you about video games. Let's just suffice it to say that with so many different variety of video games available, I'm sure there is one or some that will fit your particular tastes and interests!

I've added a youtube video that ranks some video games for you and will let you know whether or not you may like playing specific video games!

Enjoy and Happy Gaming!
